as follow up to my comics post...
...tangentially related through the comic "Warlord of Mars Dejah Thoris; my brother Hawk reports to me that he saw the trailer for the new "John Carter of Mars" and that it looks like a lot of fun, "with bare midriffs." Eor insists that we saw it last time we went to a movie, but I just looked it up on YouTube and I don't think so. I think we heard about it and he imagined it really well. But they all seem to be wearing too much! ;)
Apparently a bunch of kids think this is 'derivative of Star Wars' or Avatar, or something else, because I don't know how many comments I saw saying, "Except for the fact it was written like a hundred years ago." Seriously. "The first Barsoom tale was serialized as Under the Moons of Mars in 1912"
And in other news; it is raining here. Raining. There are small family run ski resorts starving because Republicans don't believe in global warming.
