derien | my boring day

jimdes just phoned and we talked for a looong time, because he likes to talk and has an unlimited calling plan.;) It's good to hear from him. I updated him on stuff that's been happening at work, and he gave me his opinions... I now know that if it's a dummy grenade it's supposed to have a blue band or the lever ("spoon") should be blue, and that it would be illegal to be carrying it around without that, as well as some other interesting things that I probably can't talk about in a public forum. And other stuff that's dull to relate, such as his daughter going in to first grade this year and the fact they've consolodated the busses up in the Presque Isle area so that all the kids, even up through high school, ride the same bus.

But in other things that might actually be of interest to my friends -

The food he made for supper the other night, the stuff I loved but didn't know what it was because he was asleep already? Turned out it was biryani. From a jar - Patak's. And he didn't like it. Figures. :)

I paid bills this morning. :P Although, that allowed me more time to use the lovely new Cross pen my Dad sent me for my birthday (that was the package, which had to go back to him and get re-addressed correctly). And made me realize I still have two packets of checks with my old address on them. Christ, I'll have moved again before I use them up.

Okay, now on to some other boring stuff.
