yay, ice removal! :)

Of course I couldn't actually clear one space down to the tar.  I was doing a fairly descent job on one space, then decided I should break down some ridges in the 2 or car lengths behind that, and a girl came up and parked in the space I'd nearly had done.  To her credit, at least she asked if it was okay, saying she wouldn't be long.   But then the light was failing and I was tired, so I hung it up.  My arms are buzzing.

Theoretically, if everyone on the street cleared more than their own car space we'd have a fully clear street which everyone could park in.   Unfortunately what happens is, you clear a space and someone else parks in it, so you never have any incentive to clear anything, because you never see anything out of it.

Still, I think there's hardly anything better for my soul than snow removal. :)   (As long as nobody's yelling at me about it.)   I feel a lot better after driving a shovel down, repeatedly.

Oh, darn... who was it who was who was saying the other day that there should be a special Maine martial art that uses snow shovels?  Was it my Eor, or someone at work?   There's a kind of mind-clearing meditational aspect to it.   ETA: It was [livejournal.com profile] eor. :)
