sounds like intense stuff. also sounds a bit hard to understand. writing from that time can be very amusing. In middle school in my sex education class, the teacher once brought in an article, published in a woman's magazine around the turn of the century about how women should treat sex. It was really funny. Apparently, a lady is supposed to discourage sexual relations at any and all times. On the wedding night, she is supposed to turn out all the lights in the bedroom and lay as quietly and stiffly as possible to make it hard for her new husband to find her. You can just visualize the poor guy stumbling around in the dark, tripping on things, trying desperately to find his wife. Romantic. Old victorian traditions are fun!
