Bouncing around looking for other data I found this article on why infant mortality and life expectancy are not good indicators of whether a health care system works or not. And I agree that it's quite possible that infant mortality and life expectancy could be badly skewed by factors that have nothing to do with the health care system as a whole, but they are numbers that are easy to find.
First, the statistic must assume actual interaction with the health care system. He said, blithely. Yeah, that's fine. If you have no money you might not interact with the health care system AT ALL in the U.S.
Oh for heaven's sakes. This is why I've been burying my head in the sand of fanfic - every time I start to look too closely at the world lately I get annoyed.
I have called in to work. I took DayQuil and yet my nose is still doing that random dripping thing, sometimes. Not cool.
