feeling quite old
I've been incredibly lazy, today, lying around reading "Lord of the Rings." I'm supposed to have already read the first chapter of "Fortune of War" - discussion begins today and I don't even have the book. I'm debating walking up to the library, but whichever of the O'Brian books I want is always the one out. Makes me wonder if another mandc-read member lives locally, but I know it's not likely. I was going to drive up to Brunswick and get a copy at Gulf of Maine Bookstore, where I always buy them, but Eor took the car to work. It crossed my mind to ride the bike, but ... eh. I'm not twelve anymore, perhaps my days of doing something ridic on the spur of the moment have gone by. (When I was about twelve, or quite possibly younger, my best bud and I decided to ride our bikes the long way around from my house to my grandmother's.*) I only just got back so I can ride the bike stationary for more than ten minutes, so I'm not sure that would be the most sensible idea. If I walked it would take me about four hours, at my best pace (and I don't think I'm going to be able to hit my best pace with how out of shape I am), and Eor will be back with the car in about two or three hours. I guess it's library, and maybe hit the local bookstore in case they have it. They never do. I've asked a couple of times and the guy there says, "Oh yes, we should get Patrick O'Brian back in, that would be good!" and then never does.

* Weird - I was trying to figure out what rout my friend and I went by and Googlemaps doesn't show roads where I thought they should be. Might be that what was a commonly used road has now become a private farm track, and is not recognized by Googlemaps.
