So this is over a hundred years old, and I've only seen a few references to it. I mean, I knew it existed, but never had the chance to actually look at any full strips until now. Bill Waterson somehow read these as a kid and called them one of his biggest influences with Calvin and Hobbes. He adores the mouse, Ignatz, even though Ignatz has it in for him. Krazy interprets all of Ignatz's attacks as signs of love, and refers to him as 'darling' and 'little angel'. Maybe that was why I didn't hear of him? Suppressed because HUGE HOMO VIBE OMG?
