Stuff I'm going to have to miss.:(
My two favorite musical influences have upcoming gigs, and I doubt I'll make either, unless I can come up with some money and re-arrange my schedule - the money being the hard part, but the schedule not being too easy, either. [notes in [square brackets] below are me.]

First up, Beat Soup - here's the e-mail I got last night:
Be among the first on your block to catch the new ska wave (sure to be breaking soon!)...Beat Soup (an original third-wave band!) will be appearing this Friday, May 2nd at Johnny D's in Somerville [MA]. This show is so unpredictable that we don't even know what time we're going on! Make sure to check out Beat Soup's website for up-to-the-minute updates. Hope to see lots of you there!

Then, Adam Brodsky - snippet of the e-mail from this morning:
i'm gonna rest up and fix the vacuum leak in the pequad pick up a couple of canibals to man the harpoons and set sail for a voyage 'round the cape.
but before i do that, i wanna take a may trip up to the blue mermaid. in portsmouth NH, and i'll be doing that on may 8th i love that joint, even if my hippie friends say i shouldn't order the Chilean sea bass.
anyway come to portsmouth and get really fucking drunk, cause its the law. if you're not at .12 by 9:30 PM there is a fine, i'm sure of it.
[Brodsky doesn't type carefully, yes that's one of my big pet peeves, but he's fun in concert, and I've often been impressed by the cleverness of his lyrics. here's his website]

So, in other music news, heard about this thing Madonna has done, flaming people for pirating music? Sheesh, and to think I thought maybe she really had some cool, there. Makes me not feel all that bad about this...
Eor made this at Caw's request, to tease a friend of hers who's a divinity student - Caw had argued with her that Mother Teresa wasn't intrinsically a better person that Madonna, and the tiff became a huge joke, so we sent her this for Easter:
