a drunken post...
Because one must do one every now and then - keeps one honest, right? Besides which I need to drink some water and try to get rid of the cotton-mouth feeling before I go to sleep.
Went to a party at Mainertoo's house, this evening. Unfortunately
I've always felt like I was left out of the loop because I find out about the parties only a day or two before. But Mrs. Mainertoo informed us she found out about it on her way home from work TODAY, when a neighbor called her and asked "you're having a party tonight?" Hm, yeah. She said she didn't mind, though, because we TSA people are good guests. She teased us "you're so loud and inconsiderate, you trash my house, you're obnoxious, you never help clean up!" At one point Ghostman began calling for music, because he and I both wanted to dance, but Mrs. Mainertoo informed us that the neighbors were kind to let us even have a party this late on a Thursday night, and seeing as I was next to Ghostman and had to yell to make myself understood I agreed with her - music would be overkill, we were already conversing too loudly for the neighbors to be getting any sleep. Music did not happen.
I spent the evening:
*Eating! (Mainertoo was kind enough to order meatballls and sausages seperate from the pasta, so that hopefully they wouldn't disrupt the gluten-free diet
and
*Posing for pictures
and
*Hugging Big Mamma, who's party is was (because she's going to be out for 6 weeks, possibly, due to surgery - she either gets a d+c or a hysterectamy, she won't even know which she got until she gets out from under the anesthesia,
*Talking with Ghostman and trying to get something out of him about himself. (He never talks about himself, and he says I'm the only person who notices. Believe me, dude, I'm not the only person who notices. Other people just have more manners than I. I got enough alcohol in me tonight, over a long enough period of time in his presence, to decide that curiosity outweighed manners.) (I like him a lot, everyone does... well, what can you object to in someone who always smiles, listens, and doesn't ever talk about themselves? Aside from the fact that this behavior eventually makes one nervous and self-conscious.:) And for me that process takes a matter of minutes, because I'm self-conscious enough, and I'm used to people for some reason telling me everything - I'm used to getting the life-story of every freakazoid in the general vicinity, not having to pull teeth.)
Oh! and
*Talking to Shaggy about sex-change operations, and only some of my slight experience with people who wanted them, because the subject came up. Most of the younger guys (with Ghostman ringleading) agreed that if a guy wanted to live as a woman he should have that right. Only one of the older guys was in on that conversation and objected, but was sort of laughed down. It was all done in a very joking manner, but was kind of interesting how it played out.:) One guy even said that if a guy said he had never thought about wanting to be a woman he was lying, like if he said he'd never masturbated. They certainly agreed it would be worth having the op for the perk of getting free drinks.;)
and
*Telling Ghostman about my most recent writing projects. I mean, here's a prime example of why he makes me nervous: He's always been the only person I work with, besides
and, Oh yes
*Trying to watch "Survivor," because Bellona had planned her evening around it, and I figured it deserved at least a cursory look. I've never watched the show, but if someone like Bellona thinks it's cool I'll give it a chance. Unfortunately it seemed like pretty much what I expected, high-school style politics wrapped in a bikini. Maybe 10 minutes cursory inspection during a party is not giving it the chance it deserves? *raises an eyebrow*
*Talking to Bellona as she gave me a ride home. She's another who doesn't say much about herself, but I've never had the time spent with her to even begin to try to pry her out. On the way home she basically said to me that work is work and she doesn't talk to people she works with about personal stuff - Not that she was unfriendly about it.
*chuckles*
So, yeah, to sum it up, parties are about personalities and how they interact, for me. :)
no subject
I've always wondered what to call it, I had the feeling last night and the night before that come to think of it.
One guy even said that if a guy said he had never thought about wanting to be a woman he was lying
Lol... it may seem sad but it's so true...
Real Ghostbusters?" Honest to God, Ghostman claimes to have seen the freaking show, and stood there and listened to me expound on the reasons I felt Winston/Ray b>works
I think i've seen it as well a few times, and yeah I can see how that pairing would work.
"Survivor,"
Ok the first Survivor was great but after that when the show was popular, everyone that goes on the show is there to 'show off'. So really the other one that followed it just sucked, no offense to anyone.
