just a reminder for anyone else who thinks it sounds like a good idea...
...to throw the eggs in the pan and turn the burner on high, then wander off for a 'second' to let it warm up.
It's really not.

Erk.
It's also not a good idea to realise the flame in the gas oven has gone out some minutes previously and to think, "Oh, I'll just light it again with this lit match, first I'll just open the door and . . ."
My fringe did grow back. Eventually.
