a solution

As I've said to numerous people, if we all emigrate to Canada there'll be nobody here to pull the shit out of the fire later. And I've pointed out that if the blue states secede we'll only be invaded and subjugated, but here's a compromise idea:

The United States of Canada and Jesusland

Just remember, learn half the words to the National Anthem. And learn to look bored and baffled as you convincingly mouth the rest. You'll fit in with our mapley masters so much better!

I'd vote for it

Actually, the blue states have much of the economic power (and that's not an accident, I don't think). The Confederacy was largely agrarian, and that's why it lost the Civil War. The red states are a lot bigger than the Confederacy, but I don't see South Dakota or Utah as a military juggernaut. (And on the other hand, I don't see Manitoba or Saskatchewan or even Ontario and Quebec being all that serious a deterrent to a Jesusland invasion of New America. I think New America can take them Jesuslanders all by itself!)

I still like the United States of Canada idea, though.

But most of the military belongs to Jesusland.

But you know, here in Maine there's often been sentiment that we should leave the U.S. and become part of Canada. Bordered by two Canadian provinces and only one State, it just seems like we've got more in common with our neighbors to the north.
