Truly amazing.

Found via [livejournal.com profile] tronella: On Mock_the_stupid, first person account from someone who talked to a guy who thinks AIDS makes you gay

Am not working overtime tomorrow - yay!  They need to OJT the new spot trainees, so they don't want too many people out there.

Wow. My opinion of the entire human race just dropped.

The lovely tea bit made me feel better, though. I could just taste the Earl Grey as I read it. Now I have to get my lazy bum over to the kitchen and make some.
I think my favorite bit is "drink someone else's tea."

Without knowing otherwise or being told otherwise, if he did come to that conclusion on his own then in a sense his formula for getting to that point would be correct but his answer is incorrect. As in line of thought speaking.

He had to have been thinking in a void, completely absent from all the information that most of us take for granted. For instance, the widely-known facts that not all people who have AIDS are gay, and that not all people who are gay have AIDS. The two things are only sometimes concurrent. He seems to have assumed that they are always concurrent.

But even IF you assumed they are always concurrent, it's grossest bad reasoning to assume that concurrency indicates cause.

Oh yeah of course on all accounts there.
