spending habits

I just 'balanced' my checkbook (a joke, because I write down whatever the bank has and subtract it down and still my answer doesn't match up with theirs, and how can that be?? but anyway...) and I noticed that we went out to Norm's five times during the month, Shere Punjab in Brunswick once, and India Palace here in Portland once. And I had lunch at the airport once. That seems like a lot of going out. Well, at least to Norm's. I think we should probably try to shift some of those Norm's visits down to India Palace. :)

I also feel better about lunch at the airport. It's not cheap by any means, but it's about what I spend on myself for dinner at Norm's. Yeah - for a burger and steamed vegetables that's NOT good, but it was a lunch that left me feeling quite satisfied and happy - I should really learn how to cook that.

The best thing about my checkbook - the bonus I got at the beginning of the month means that I could lose my job tomorrow and live this entire month over again exactly the same and still not be out of money. Of course if I lost my job I would not go out to Norm's five times.

Okay, off to pay the rent and pick up my new monitor - yay! :)

Aah, banking is confusing... well to me anyway. >.> You don't know how to cook vegetables? Or just special ones?

Yay for your bonus!!!

Supposedly I'm supposed to be able to write down the money I spend when I spend it and subract it out and at the end of the month it's supposed to be the same as what the bank says... but if I can't even get it the same when I just write down what THEY say, how could I possibly do that? Better, even - how DID I do that? Because when I was younger I could. I swear I'm slowly losing my brain. (I have noticed a decline in my reading comprehension, lately, which worries me.)

I guess I know 'how,' theoretically, to cook veggies, but I'm too lazy, maybe? Or disorganized? They always go bad when I buy them.

Oh, I said I was going out to get that monitor, didn't I? I really have to go.

heh, I was thinking last time the boy and I were doing banking that we need to come up with less expensive places to have dinners together - though the indian restaurants are so lovely. dilemma, dilemma!

you are far more virtuous about going out to eat than we are, but then again we are much better about it than others we know...I suppose it's all relative.

I think India Palace isn't really all that expensive, for eating out, but Shere Punjab does seem to stretch the old wallet a bit.

We're not too vituous at all! Here it is the first day of the month and I just bemoaned eating out too much, but Eor wants his steak and cheese and I can deny my cutie nothing - I do spoil him far too much. I even walk out and fetch it. ;)
