I'm really glad that I opened that gift from
mizzmarvel early, because it improved my mood, which needed improving.
Happily,
eor faked me out that he might be home by 1PM, today, which means that now that it's 4PM and he's still not home I have done almost all the chores which I normally don't have done by the time he gets home.
Of course I was in a complete panic most of the time. I had forgotten how completely sucky it is to be doing laundry and grocery shopping on Saturday, when everyone else is doing the same things. Every time I have to deal with crowds I tell myself that I'd be much happier if I could only do these things earlier, and yet I just can't drag myself out... mainly, I think, because I have such an aversion to being out where there are people, so I engage in avoidance behaviors. My grandmother (father's mother) used to do her grocery shopping at around 4:30 or 5AM because she hated being around people so much. I wish I could take after her in her ability to get up and get out early! Of course our local Hannaford isn't open that early - for some reason it's become unstylish to have 24-hour grocery stores like Rockland used to have.*
At any rate... my panic made me run out of the laundrymat without one of my dryer loads of clothes and I had to go back for them. They weren't dry, so I stuck them in the dryer in the basement while I went grocery shopping, and when I got back I realized that dryer had gotten a lot hotter than I'd expected it to (I DID have it set on coolest!) and the lovely green-and-brown sweater Eor has been wearing so much and looking so very good in has gotten considerably smaller. :( It's not like kid sized, but I've got a feeling the sleeves might be a little short for him, now. I'm going to make him try it on as soon as he gets home.
He's home! :) I hugged him and said I was glad to see him, as he's one of the few people who doesn't annoy me.
"That's not true," he said, "I annoy you! I just don't do it as often as most people."

*I know I've told this story before. Sorry for being repetitive.

I have to go to Hannaford before the pharmacy closes and I SO don't want to.
