book 31...

31) "Post Captain" Patrick O'Brian. <3 ! Yes, I pretty much hearted every word of this book. But no conclusions! And I don't have book 3!! One of my co-workers ("Father" is what actually we call him, because he shares a name with a famous fictional priest, and I guess I may as well use that for want of a better name.) said that I was lost now that I'd begun reading these books, and I suspect he's right.

Father said last night that my hat makes him think of H. Rider Haggard books - "King Solomon's Mines," that sort of thing, which reminded me that I really need to read his stuff. Why did I attempt to begin writing "Swept Away" without reading Haggard?

Have you read King Solomon's Mines? There's so much unintentional lulz in that book.

I haven't read any of this stuff! I wish I could re-write my whole story in a much faster and looser way. The problem is that Victorian style does not come naturally to me.

Eek, still haven't finished 'Post Captain'... But I'd agree with your co-worker's assessment. We're now officially sunk. [No pun intended. XD ]
