While researching voodoo and views of it in the 1920s, I stumbled on this ridiculous mass of vitriol against women and our supposed 'matriarchal' society of today. It was apparently much better for women to submit to men, entirely, and life was all fine and beautiful when that was the case. Because, sure, when women could randomely be beaten to death because their husbands wanted to things were so much better. Apparently divorce - where evil women "take from the man his wealth and his children" - is a terrible situation.

I want to move to another planet, where people like this will not be allowed.

Ha! I'm always annoyed when I read people labeling attempts (mostly failed or either only partly successful) at equality as being "feminisation" of society, but this is the first time I've ever seen a commentator stupid enough to try and suggest we're living in a matriarchy! Luckily he makes himself look like even more of an idiot by trying to demonise popular music. What an utter prat. I'd be willing to go to war if ideas like this took root but luckily these people are and always will be a tiny minority.

This is probably off topic, but a mate of mine wrote his thesis on weibermacht, meaning "womens' power", which was a belief in Germany in medieval times about the inherent evil power in women. Apparently there are still some adherents to this idea lurking around!
