Don't let me forget...

I asked my cousin Pen if she will make me a lining for my big wool coat, and she said she would be glad to, I just have to buy the material I want and take it down to her. What do I want, I wonder? I'm thinking a silk or a satin, black or red? But then again, I love the material which the underneath layer of my gypsy skirt is made of, the one littleredhead made for me - it's a red and gold paisley, and I have no idea what it is, rayon or something, probably? It's shiny and slippery. :) And what, I ask you, is the lining of a coat for but to get crazy with?

Your choice of lining material depends on how much you sweat, how often the coat is cleaned, if it needs to be washable, and how warm the lining should be. My coat (for Indiana) needs a silk/rayon blend. My coat (for New Orleans) needs a rayon or tencel blend.

Yes. Basically. (Although my entire coat is a little outre for winter coats in the Midwest.)

My official recommendation: Washable silk. A lovely, warm material that will also be breathable with the wool and delish next to your skin.

My unofficial recommendation: anything you like! Love your coat! Yay for lovely coats!
