don't bother, this is mostly just for me to blow off steam
45 minutes on the phone today and yesterday have revealed only that I should fax the Dr's report yet again. My Dr's office says they mailed it and my HR person says she faxed it, but the WC* claims they don't have it. "What does the form look like that you have?" I start to read to her from it and describe the page, and she interrupts me with, "Nope, that's not what we have. Send us that."
My HR person looked right at me and told me for several minutes (How much do I hate people who keep repeating themselves in different words? Oh, a LOT) that she couldn't help me. She's sent everything and it's likely that they won't give her any information due to privacy laws.
I called the physical therapists office, just to let them know that I hadn't forgotten them and I'm still trying to get them paid, and she was appalled that my HR person would tell me such a thing. "It's her job to be in there getting this done for you! Is there someone above her who could look into this? Because if nobody there will help you, you should contact the Maine Worker's Comp Commission."
yes. yes, thank you. I know that.
Oh, and I also contacted Blue Cross and they told me what I suspected - I have to wait until Worker's Comp denies my claim before I file with them, and as long as I file with them in a timely manner after receiving the denial there should be no problem. The 'timely manner' part starts after an official denial.
Wait, there was one last item that the physical therapist's office person gave me. She asked if the Dr's report form which I have is an M1 form. Now, I don't know as I've heard that before - the letter from Worker's Comp didn't ask for an M1 form specifically - but I phoned my Dr's office and asked if they have such a thing in my file, because the report I have doesn't seem to say M1 on it anywhere that I can see. She seems an unlikely person to be telling me something which one might think were rather crucial, if it were in fact correct, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that she's correct. Beyond the fact that I don't rule out anyone having not bothered to tell me that they're seeking a very specific thing, I also could have simply forgotten they said "M1."
An M16 is more what I'd prefer to be using right about now.

*Yes I know it should be OWCP - Office of Worker's Compensation Programs. WC is just me being juvenile and likening them to a water closet. Because I feel as though I could be flushing all this time and information down a toilet for all the good it's doing me.
