I can NOT believe the documentation the bank is requiring for us for this mortgage. I'm going to be running around all morning tomorrow rounding things up, and this is not the first morning like that and I KNOW it won't be the last. It doesn't help that every list they send us of documentation they need includes at least three things we gave them in a previous go-round. *eyeroll* Am going to bed, now. I feel like I deserve a drink, but I'm taking Ibuprofen for my shoulder. (I did my exercises yesterday and then was in baggage as well.)

I hate when they do that! Don't they have check list?

I'm sure they must have some kind of master checklist, and then they have a bunch of form letters, and they aren't going down through the form letters and crossing out things they already have. Either that or the documentation we sent previously to cover those requirements is not sufficient in some way, but if that's the case I wish they would tell us in what way, and what would be.

Ah, the red tape of bureaucracy. What a pain in the proverbial. :hands you a mental glass of wine:

It doesn't help that every list they send us of documentation they need includes at least three things we gave them in a previous go-round.

You'd think they'd just photocopy what you sent them originally, but I suppose that would be far too sensible and logical...

Ha. My parents still have to repeatedly provide evidence to the govt., on a regular basis, that my brother remains eligible for various disability benefits because his Down's Syndrome and incurable, genetic eye condition (he's partially sighted and registered blind) haven't actually gone away yet. We'd be very tempted to enter a sarcastic "All fine now! Took him to Lourdes. Kthanxbai" on the form, if it wasn't for the fact that they might take us seriously. ;) )

*snort* Yuh! I wonder how many fewer trees could be killed by not requiring follow-up paperwork to genetic conditions, until, say, some cure has been found.

So, does it look like the mortgage is going to go through now? You were pretty dispirited a few days before, thinking is wasn't looking too promising...

They're still asking for more documentation, so I guess so. :D

Also, I might have forgot to say, but we've decided to go with the 20% down (and pull money out of our retirements to do that) in order to not have to get the private mortgage insurance. Matt figured out that it would actually cost us less, because I get a good rate on residential loans from my Thrift Savings Plan (2.5%).
