I've been listening to the local college radio station quite a lot, lately, and on Tuesdays there's this guy, Zach, doing a show called Huskey Tunes or something like that from 3pm to 5pm. He keeps saying "I'm back, because nobody else wants to come in and play music, so you have to listen to my music. Come down here and fill out a paper so you can play music." And I keep daydreaming about doing that. It's a fun daydream. What would I play? What would you play?
First I thought I would do ska and ask questions between songs which would make people think about socio-political crap, in imitation of TheHhumble Farmer, (humble plays jazz and the short version from his point of view was that he got kicked off Maine Public Radio for reading the definition of fascism, because people called in to say he was talking about George Bush in a bad way) but then I realized that on another afternoon (maybe Wednesday) there's an old guy playing jazz and asking pointed socio-political questions, so I guess that slot is taken. I should ask him if he is a humble fan.
Then I thought maybe I would ask to do just one show. One Tuesday people would think they were going to hear Zack again and they would get Loose Digits for most of the two hours. Oh, I might alternate Loose Digits with ska, to really confuse people. But the point is, I might talk about Hawk, what he's facing in his life right now, and just encourage people to buy those two CDs Loose Digits put out and spread the love. But just now I searched and I can't find Loose Digits CDs for sale anywhere, anyhow. :(
