Have been obsessed over the news from Ukraine since Thursday. Too much unfolding too fast. I think I'll never forget (but I will you know, if I don't write it down):

Zelenskyy, on being offered the opportunity to evacuate: "I need amunition, not a ride."

The Thirteen on Snake Island telling the Russians to go fuck themselves, knowing they're going to be wiped out for that.

Crap.

But OTOH, Syrians are going, "yeah, NOW you care what the Russians do."

Americans claim they don't want to be involved
in 'other peoples wars .....just wait till
the pics of murdered children hit the media -
the chech' are coming and they are not known for being nice or
taking prisoners &by the way, since when are they & the Russians friends???
I seem to remember Putin warning the U S about the Boston bombers brothers...
we of course did not listen..
The courage being displayed is pretty amazing\hope its not for nothing.

Putin may come to regret this action for
many reasons not the least of these being
for the first time since the end of WW2
Germany is changing it stance on armed conflict-
Putin might do well to remember Germany is one country now-
the country that in fact invaded his homeland twice
in previous century-

I don't know what would be worse - involvement or non-involvement. I don't think Putin will hesitate to use nukes, and I will bet he has short-circuited the old fail safes.

Someone said it was amazing what Putin managed in one weekend - ending Swiss neutrality and German pacifism.
