It seems that now the guest list has been released Coworker S's sister has decided she wants to go after all, but has bought her own ticket and will be accompanying us, so we can split a hotel room 3 ways. (Eor thinks we're nuts to even think about staying in New York overnight.) And Coworker S has decided she wants to drive into the City rather than take a train because parking is only $40 (train tickets for 3 people would come to $90 one way) and she feels more confident of getting there in time for her appointment to get pics taken with her chosen celebrity.
I'd better ask now before I wish I had: Is anyone else I know going to this shindig?
Or does anyone have practical advice for where we should stay? Or have dinner? (I think Coworker S has a particular diner in mind for breakfast, and that's the major draw for staying in town.)

Saw your first post
I then looked over the ' burb from the CC
they have hotels with prices and suggest that folks book early
and stay at those hotels -having never stayed overnight in the city
it's hard to know.
