I feel like a pup

Sitting in the waiting room waiting to get my shots - flu and COVID at the same time. Though what I'm concerned about now is RSV, as it's on the rise in Maine, and my brother in Seattle went to the Emergency Department in the middle of the night because of it; he was choking on his own spit because he couldn't swallow. He did get fixed up and sent home, but yeah. I've been masking selectively at work the past days since being sick the last time, trying to stay well until I got these shots, but I don't know if they have a shot for RSV. I guess I should ask.

It's getting up on 10am, though... And people who came in after me have been called. Did I not hear my name or are they punishing me for being a minute late? Why is it so often harder to be on time if you live nearby? I'm just horrible at getting out the door, always have been. I don't know if this is an ADD thing or what, because it goes beyond just forgetting things. I will literally just stand, sometimes. It's like I can't find any other reason to stay, but I just don't want to leave my cozy home.

Saw this on /latest -- there is indeed a RSV vaccine, but it's very very very new (just approved in May) and the manufacturers are having trouble getting the production ramped up to meet demand, so they're asking people to hold off on getting it this year unless you're one of the categories who are at extremely high risk (infants, pregnant people so they can pass along the antibodies, and people over 60 with a history of severe respiratory illness).

Wow, thank you. :) I'm amazed my brother didn't get it, since he's been getting treatment for lung cancer for like nine years, now, and is a physician's assistant - hypothetically would know about it and be in the right place to get it.

Australia's Health Direct online tells me 'There is currently no vaccine for RSV.' I'm afraid that one's just rest and fluids. I hope your brother recovers soon, and fully.

I understand that feeling of not being able to get out of the door. I have a Secret Santa gift to post, and the post office is only a 10-ish minute walk, but it's miserably humid outside and I just don't want to. It might have to be tomorrow morning when I can get Danny to drive me.

I was thinking I'd quite like to send you a holiday card this year, I always love getting yours. I haven't done international cards in quite some time due to a lack of spoons and my deteriorating handwriting, but I'd like to this year. Could you please remind me of your postal address?
