I should undoubtedly be writing an email - I got a nice, long one from sospan-fach this morning, delightful to read... but right now I'm so tired I can't even think. I don't know what I've been doing to myself. Probably just shorting myself a little sleep here and there. Or quite possibly the doctor is right and I should just go for the damned sleep study already and see if I have sleep apnea. I went in today to see my doctor so that she could cut the remains of a cyst out of my back (funny concept - cutting out a hole), and having someone even touch that part of my back has always been difficult for me (long before the cyst), but she asked me to lie on my left side on the table, and that's my going-to-sleep pose; I nearly dozed off.
Possibly the advantage of having numb scar tissue there - she told me the anesthetic shot was going to hurt, but I barely felt it, and then I felt as though something were trickling down my back... Well, it was not just a trick of the nerves, as it turned out. Apparently she accidentally stuck the needle through the side and the stuff just poured out the hole as quick as she tried to pump it in. :) It still didn't hurt as she restabbed me, though the tugging and pulling that followed was a little disturbing.
Over all it was pretty painless, and I no longer have the hole in the middle of my back that made me feel like a wind-up doll. :) Not so much because of having a key-hole but because I always felt I would have to get someone to look at it for me to make sure it wasn't infected. Now, one little stitch and a bandaid over it, and in a week the stitch comes out. :)
Okay, so where did I put that damned sleep-study form... *shuffles the piles on the desk*
