There's been a nasty-ass smell coming from the fridge for a while, (though Hawk and I could not smell it without prompting from Eor - because of the conditions under which we grew up we are simply incapable of smelling bad smells or noticing dirt in our own homes) so this afternoon when we got home from work Eor and I indulged in a huge pitch-fest/dishwashing spree in an attempt to rid ourselves of this scent. Hawk had, yesterday, got rid of some sort of beet sauerkraut he'd had sitting around, and double-checked the triple-wrapping on his kim chee, so I was convinced it was something which had gone really bad, at this point.
However, much later, after dinner, I happened to catch sight of an old butter tub at the back of one of the vegetable drawers which we most use for cheese. Opening it I found a chunk of gorgonzola. Phew! Hawk's, of course. I don't know why he's attracted to eat so many things that don't smell fit for human consumption. :)
Now I've triple-wrapped that, and I'm going to hope for the best, but the smell is all in everything in the fridge, so even if that's the source it will take a while to get rid of. We're certainly going to have to wash everything with bleach.
