The official opening of the new terminal is in two days, I believe, and starting yesterday they were doing ceremonial stuff. Bigwigs were here, though of course it was a huge secret from us who they were. I expect the media knew, but I never read the news, personally. I have Eor do that for me.

But we're on our way toward Cyberquail's house tomorrow morning, and when we come back the move to the new space will be well in hand, so I'm not going to worry about it. ;) Thoughts of this coming vaca have sustained me for the past week, but I didn't dare talk about it because I was afraid it wouldn't happen if I did. But yesterday, after having had a couple of discussions with The Ogre about it (during which he gave me puppy dog hound dog eyes) I began to think it would really happen, and last night I started getting excited. Apparently my exhaustion was masking my emotion, because when I said I was SO excited Eor was surprised. :)

To some extent I feel a little guilty, too, because I know there's still a lot of work to be done. The trainer from Boston is staying at least all next week, and Diz will not go back to being a regular Supervisor until they're done. But Bagadonuts is going back to Bangor at the end of the week, though, and he starts another project up there 7am the day after driving back; today we've got to do the finishing brush up on getting him ready for that.

AND another trainer has been hired, locally - finally! It will be (*drum rollllll*) Moose! This has been a wicked long drum roll for us. I'm not even sure, at this point, how long it's been since The Skipper was fired, there have been two rounds of applications, and Moose interviewed well over two weeks ago. He won't get sent to training (only a week's worth) until November, but they're obviously going to start segueing him into his new duties right away, because last night when they couldn't find me for something the Assistant Boss tried to get him to do it. And of course he couldn't, because he of course had A) no key and B) no clue, so he found me and I asked him if he wanted to stay to see what I was supposed to do. He realized, suddenly, that from now on the only way he'll be able to get a break will be to hide. I don't want to say "Welcome to my world" because that's one of the most obnoxious phrases ever, right up there with "You think that's bad?" and "There is no try; only do, or do not do." Fuck off, Yoda.

But now that I'm cutting I feel as though I have license to go on a little longer - poor you! Eor found a really cool-sounding, if a little pricey, hotel in Indianapolis (our eventual destination) only three blocks from his brother's house. It sucks that we won't be there until Friday because they have swing dancing on Friday nights! In fact it looks as though Indianapolis could be more interesting than I'd ever imagined. On Google you can see there's a lovely greenway running SW-NE and some nice looking parks, and there seems to be a lot of good-sounding restaurants. One has Scotch Eggs! (Though coming from Maine I'm possibly spoiled in the eating out department, as I already know we have the highest number of restaurants per capita of any state. And the lowest number of churches. ;))

Now, a shower and it's off to Brunswick to pick up whatever is waiting at the UPS store.

ETA PS! We have a new breakfast place a block away from home!
