Do you oppose joining Tumblr or reading Tumblr? I'm pretty against joining; it seems like a really worthless way to spend my time.

I've had great success adding various Tumblr feeds to my RSS reader. They come up like any other blog, which I love. (If you have a paid account on DW, you can also create RSS feeds to subscribe to here instead of using a separate reader. Solves the Tumblr problem completely.)

If you'd like to read DogBlog on Dreamwidth, here's the feed: [syndicated profile] dogblogsf_feed.

The main perk of Tumblr is the interconnectivity and interactive nature. It's easy to reblog (and the Tumblr system automatically includes credits/links back to the source). It's communicating by sharing and passing things around. Like Facebook-style sharing with LJ/DW-style lists and friends.

Depending on the layout of the page, the archives can be very straight-forward. I feel like Tumblr handles archives better than Blogspot or Blogger. Lots of "real blogs" use Tumblr as an embedded feature because it has a lot of features...features WordPress/TypePad are just getting around to introducing, years later.

Very cute! But I always feel bad for the poor dogs tied to things, possibly wondering when - IF - their human will return. Maybe all those other dogs don't have abandonment issues like the Leaf does and they just KNOW human will be back soon.

Also reminds me of a certain trip to England when N took pics of all the dogs he saw, and then promptly and accidentally deleted them from his camera when we got home. Poor N.

I know. I want to take every dog sitting on a sidewalk home with me. Or at least get them a pillow and talk to them and hug them until their person comes back.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear N deleted all his pictures! He had so much fun taking those pics.
