I cleaned up my granmother's old mantle clock and it's working! We'll see if it's still keeping acurate time when I get home, but still... working! :) I set the nails on the bottom and back which were coming out, and put cork feet on the bottom so it won't be gouging anything it sits on (was having to set it on a peice of brass). Also I kind of ruined the finish by cleaning it with alcohol - duh - but I intended to refinish it anyway so this will give me some incentive.
Really all it needed was for the exploded old battery to be dug out, all the gunk cleaned out, and a new battery. I removed all the spider skeletons inside it while I was at it.
