I've been trying to stay away from the computer because I decided my addiction to the Yahoo groups was getting out of hand. I can't just drop them entirely, though - no, instead I've cut down to reading all the posts on the 2 I like the most (the Red Dwarf Slash Society and the Good Omens group "Crowley's Angels"), with occasional forays into a couple of others to follow up stories I'm enjoying (the Sirius/Remus group [off the Harry Potter series] and the Real Ghostbusters group). And cut down everything else as well, such as writing to people and posting to my journal. The idea is that someday I might cut back enough on groups in order to get a few other things done, like completing a few fics of my own. This idea is not working so far.

Anyway, nothing significant has really happened in my life. Aside from sending out a general e-mail to all my friends and finding that many of them have given up the addresses I had for them without telling me... *sigh* Guess I should have written to them more often.:(

Besides that it's just been working. I'm settling in a bit more on afternoon shift, some of them are quite fun (there's a group organizing to go to the premier of the new Star Trek movie! :)). But I really don't hang with anyone in particular, much. Haven't managed to get together with the people I enjoyed on morning shift for drinks.

During my stint on the morning shift it seems I developed a major addiction to coffee. When you have to be starting work at 4am your coffee gets very important to you. I've shaken this monkey before, I guess I can again, it's just a matter of wanting to. Caffeine is such a pleasant drug, it makes me feel happy when I'm down, and there's actually not so many bad side effects as they used to think. I just can't forget that when I've gotten out of hand with this before I've occasionally gotten a racing heart thing, and an EKG showed that the different parts of my heart were beating in different rhythms, though they said this was not necessarily a problem. Still, it kind of bothers me. Now I think I'll go have another pot of coffee and begin ironing my uniforms.
