Yesterday in debrief we were informed that one of my work-friends has resigned. Another returned today after several days sick leave which he got for having 2 bad nosebleeds in one day due to high blood pressure. People are getting quite snappish and run down. Stress. Several of the people I most like to hang with are now working in the new checked baggage inspection function, so I'm not seeing them, and don't have the chance to let off steam with them. And when I do see them they look pretty rough - this is not easy on them. Apparently there's not proper equipment available, they're lifting hundred-pound bags repeatedly all day without breaks until like 5 hours into the shift. I'm worried about them.
My New Year's Resolutions:
1)To be less stressed out about work. It is, after all, just a job, I should just keep my head down and work and try to avoid thinking about how things could be run better.
2)To lose some weight - mainly because I think that now that the holiday feeding frenzy is over it will happen to some extent, anyway. We've had SO much food and sweets at work. Although, chocolate keeps me going.
3)To finish the one fic I started. It's an HP, Fred/George/Lee. And I'll admit to you that I chose that fandom because most of the stuff in it sucks so bad that I figured I
couldn't do worse. Am I not just the sleaziest?
I would resolve to find a girlfriend, but I've made the same resolution for the last 11 years and not managed to keep it yet.... However, they say as long as you try it won't happen, so maybe my resolution has to be to not try anymore. Anyone who feels like
trying on my behaf and playing matchmaker for me is welcome.;) I'll meet anyone, no harm in hanging out.
