Hm, I wasn't too sure of this test at first, but maybe it is a good one after all. Yes, I like my solitude. A lot. That doesn't mean I don't ever want to be with people, or that I don't want to have friends. My friends are very important to me.
Slush dropped from the sky for most of the day, and I didn't go out except to clean off the car as it got dark. Mostly I ate, did dishes, read a bit (here's a nice site for fanfic recomendations, check "multifandom recs"), spent some quality time with Eor, and had some time for introspection.
Earlier I wrote a long post for my LiveJournal - and then lost it when my computer hiccuped. Now I don't know if I should bother with trying to recreate it, really, but it went something like this: Why did the media play up the whole Columbia accident as a tragedy for the U.S. and Israel? Why was India pretty much ignored? They lost their first female astronaut - all their newspapers had her on the front page because they were expecting her triumphat return. This could have been seen as a world tragedy, and united everyone, but it wasn't spun that way. Why? And why should W quote Bible in his official statement - doesn't that ignore the families of those on the shuttle who aren't Christian? I know people all react from their own mythos set when they're in grief, but an official public statement by a world leader should be more inclusive. Why did this administration cut funding to NASA? Not that I think that is to _blame_ for the accident, accidents happen, but expecting them to make the same schedules with less money could be a factor.
And, completely unrelated, why is this administration planning to increase their spending (in other areas _besides_ the space program) based on projected growth? If I decided I could spend more than I'm earning now because I'm "going to work hard and get a raise," wouldn't I end up bankrupt or in jail?
I should go make some updates on my own website, I've got to stick on a link to Eor's new ISP, NNEI. He hasn't got many customers yet, and that's kind of bumming him out, but he has gotten some feedback from the customers he has, and they seem delighted - basically, it's the fastest, smoothest dial-up service they've ever experienced, which makes him (and me!) proud.:)
