I'm using [livejournal.com profile] eor's computer to make this post and catch up on my friends list. (Why yes we DO each need our own computer, why do you ask? In fact Eor has several.;)) He's using my monitor and keyboard & etc to hook up his Mom's computer for upgrades. I don't want to take the time to pull all the plugs and re-do everything just to get my email. Although Teena wrote me, yesterday (or the day before?) and I should write back to her as soon as I can, but... well, probably he'll be done with it tonight sometime, I can wait. Not like I'm going to write back to her now, I have to go to work.

Highlights of the weekend:

Lots of driving on Saturday - to Kennebunk, to Salisbury Beach, back to Kennebunk, back to Salisbury Beach, and then home. Gah. All because of a communication difficulty between his Uncle and Mom on how she was getting to the party in Kennebunk (from Salisbury Beach, if you hadn't guessed). And then we wondered if we'd done the right thing because it seemed like the whole thing was out of synch. We arrived so late, because of the traffic, and everyone was tired.

Sunday - cleaning house and doing laundry. But nice because Eor was awake and we got to hang together during daylight hours, and the sun was out.:) Laundry was annoying, though, because all the laundrymats ended up being closed on the holiday and I had to do it in the horrible littel room in the basement where the lights are on timers and keep going out. "Wait. My eyes aren't closed. Why's it dark? Oh, I guess I'd better go find that light timer and reset it before I have time to get scared."

I hate an unfamiliar keyboard. Also the tray it's on rattles. (Although my own keyboard might feel unfamiliar when I get back to it - Eor cleaned the felted cat fur out from under the keys.)

A lot of hard, fast work. Wibby and I usually get along great, but today we jumped down each other's throats over a misunderstanding - we're all snappish from being overworked. We made it up, though, and were both all, "I'm so sorry!"

I actually put a letter to [livejournal.com profile] afrai into an envelope, today. It'll probably need extra postage because I took 3 weeks to write it, it's 13 pages on drawing paper (why couldn't I have used airmail paper?) and so weighs about fourteen pounds. I almost might as well mail her a couple of rocks while I'm at it. (Have I ever mentioned that rocks are one of the favorite mementos the tourists take away? We don't mind all that much, Maine has lots of extra rocks. But sometimes they take cobbles from our streets. And the beach sand - we don't have that much actual sand, we wish they'd leave some for us to enjoy.) Now I have to go look for her summer address...

And in random bizarrness: As I was falling asleep last night I had this weird inspiration about writing a Gilligan's Island fanfic. It would be placed a couple/few years after they are rescued from the island, after most of them have gone their seperate ways. Gilligan, Maryanne and the Professor would be living together in a rambling old farmhouse outside the small Southern town where the Professor has a job teaching high school science. Then my wandering mind started borrowing from any number of weird horror/crime stories - their farmhouse is invaded by desperate criminals, perhaps escaped convicts, and Maryanne puts a hatchet into the back of some dude's head because he's strangling Gilligan.

What odd odd things I do think of as I'm falling asleep.
