Help. I'm sure nobody else can really help me with this, because the more I try to talk about it with [livejournal.com profile] eor the more confused I get. But what the heck, let me get feedback, if anyone has any. These plot outlines are pretty much in the order I'm thinking of them in. Plot C is the plot that made me think, "Okay, this is stupid enough so that I'm not really wedded to making it work out right, I could do the NaNo with that."

Plot A: Normal Portland... )
Plot B: Gothic Portland... )
Plot C: High School Boys and Ghosts... )
Plot D: Another girl, another planet... )

I typed up mounds of crap so that I could throw away the attendant mounds of little slips of paper where I jotted notes about this and that at work over the past several months. My desk is neater, but still not clean. So many things that I can't figure out where they belong.

Some rocks and a shell.
A key to the car which which hit the deer.
Chain necklaces and bracelets [livejournal.com profile] eor made for me.
Pens.
The erasor [livejournal.com profile] afrai sent me.
The teddybear Teena gave me.
Postcards from [livejournal.com profile] camwyn, [livejournal.com profile] matushan and other people, and more postcards I still intend to send to people.
One 1972 Deutsche Mark
Lip balm
A small red dragon
Bill from my dentist.
An estimate from the vet for how much it will cost to get work done on the cat.
Info from work about the Thrift Savings Plan open season.

And that's not everything. There are still some random papers, notes and info about ordering checks, a packet that used to hold a harddrive, a plastic ring-binder sleeve... Where do normal people put all this kind of stuff?

For some silly reason I feel it's vital to get it cleaned off before I start work on my story. I think I want a sense that I don't have things hanging over my head.

Must go wash the car and do the grocery shopping. Must. And get [livejournal.com profile] eor a new drill bit so he can put the bumpers on his van.

eta And my email is choking on something, so I can't receive anything. :(
Thankfully, this wasn't me. (My policy of trying to not say anything about politics directly and trying to avoid saying anything mean about anyone seems to be a sound one.)

I'll get this out in email to my friends as soon as my email is back up and working.
Why things go out of fashion just about the time I decide to buy them... )

My progress on today's goals.. )

I have had four votes on my poll regarding which plot I should write for NaNo - if you missed it, feel free to sound off, if you care. Not that I'm promising to do the plot that gets voted for most, but I might. And then again it might be a coincidence if I do - you'll never know for sure. And probably neither will I.:)
