*waves* 'allo 'allo

So.  Getting caught up.  We had no power from about 5am this morning until I don't know when because I had to go to work.  I heated water on the stove for a bath after getting home from talking to the oral surgeon about getting my wisdom teeth pulled.  He thinks I should, because one of them has a chronic infection, he says (and I thought, "of course") and his people say that they've already talked to Blue Cross and that they will pay for it.  I'm not sure I believe it, but you know, that's the kind of cynicism that one develops when one is in the middle of trying to figure out Workmans' Comp issues.  *rolls eyes*

Anyhow.  That on seven hours fitful sleep, because I stayed late last night - got home at quarter of eleven and got to sleep around midnight, and had eaten a half a scone so my stomach was all rumbly - and then when the transformers blew on the powerlines outside at 5am the green flashes and hum had both of us wide awake and weirded out.  Eor went to work an hour early, I tried to sleep for a couple more hours.  Kept waking up.  Then I raised my hand to stay late tonight as well. 

Besides the fact that work was difficult both yesterday and today, and I have a new trainee.  Yes.  I'm about at the end of my rope.  I snapped at one of the Leads like a veritable Jekyll and Hyde, today.  I apologized, later, and he seemed fine.  We all know we're all at the ends of our ropes.  It was a hard summer, people are leaving in droves, we're having to train newbies and the work is not letting up.

Anyhow, off to catch up on what you all are doing.  And have some tacos and vodka.

PS - My new trainee?  His third day and he's already got an official nickname.  Tip.  Because he's the third person newbie (out of four batches) who has the same name, a common name beginning with P.  We get these images on the x-ray which are supposed to train us to see the bad stuff.  To make the image to away we have to hit the P3 button.  The images are called 'tips.'  "Training Image Post Sinus" or something like that. 

Yes, this IS a freaking distorted three steps removed in joke from work.  It's only funny to us.

I would only ever post that after two long days at work, little sleep, and my second vodka.  Really.
