I know I'm late with an update, but I headed right out for my cousin's directly from work on the Eve, and returned home at 3am, got 5 or 6 hours sleep and went to work, and all last night and this morning so far has been catching up with reading my f-list.  Had a good time with my cousins, although Pen wasn't feeling well and couldn't get a sitter, so didn't go along, and the place Di and I went to meet up with some friends of hers was quite the dive.  We had a couple of drinks and danced and did some pointing and laughing. :)

Even in this place, though, there was some slash entertainment to be had. )

As an antidote to the setting I suggested to my cousin that we should sometime see if we couldn't catch a performance of the goth bellydancers, which she seemed delighted at the concept of. :)

She mentioned she has an LJ, too, but didn't favor me with her name on here, so maybe she's nearly as nervous about family seeing it as I am about mine. ;)

And then we went back to Pen's house and had chocolate cake. (And I had to wonder if the story about not being able to get a sitter and not feeling well was just a ploy so she could stay home and bake the cake.)  It had chocolate and white chocolate chips in it and she had white chocolate orange sauce to droozle over it, and it was lovely! :)  Between the sugar and the pain in my jaws produced by cleaning the holes again, after, I was not the slightest bit sleepy on my drive home, leaving there at 2am.  You can't fall asleep when it feels as though two ten-penny nails are being driven into the joints of your jaw, so I was perfectly safe.  Though I felt much safer when I was on the divided highway.  Every time there was a car oncoming when I was on the two-lane I was watching for a place to ditch out if they were on the wrong side of the road.  The muscles in my jaw could just have begun clenching because of fear.

Am seeing the dentist who took my wisdom teeth out yet again today, for another follow up.  I'm fairly certain there's some infection going on, but otherwise he's probably just going to say (again), "You're just healing slowly because your so OLD!"  Well, he didn't say it quite like that, because he's actually much older than I am (I think - quite often I'm wrong when I make these guesses) but I guess most people do this when they're younger.  My teeth are definitely rearranging themselves, and I've taken a notion that the back teeth are toppling over into the space left from the wisdom teeth, but hopefully it will all sort out and the rest of my teeth will be less crowded and my bite will eventually settle into it's new shape.  It might just take a while for me to get used to it.  It's already easier to floss, especially the back ones.  I think most of the pain, now, is when the jaw muscles tweak out and won't let go.

I'd like to take a moment to compliment the former Lemondropgirl on her switch to [livejournal.com profile] mollyrazor - I do like this name. :)  (Eor felt it should have been [livejournal.com profile] steppinrazor, but in fact someone already has that LJ name, and obviously, by her profile, for the same reason.)

I was thinking of doing some sort of review of my year as Eor and many others have done, but I'm not really up to it at the moment.  This entry is too long anyway, and I need to eat and bath and get to the dentist's, so maybe tomorrow.  Oh, no, wait - there's a breakfast at IHOP tomorrow for one of the ex-co-workers who's visiting from Florida.  So I guess not tomorrow.  Thursday, maybe.  And by then everyone will be on to other things.  I'd better not miss out on Thursday, though, as Friday morning I have another dr's appointment.  Sheesh, I'm booked up.  What's up with that??  I hope this isn't a portent of my year to come.  I need lazy time!
