(no subject)

I love having chicken stock to make soup with!  Today's soup has not only a breast of chicken, a carrot, and two sticks of celery, but also a small summer squash and zucchini.  I put a little salt, pepper, chili and paprika and tasted, expecting that I would want a lot more spices, because I usually do, but it's really good just like it is.  I'll probably put some cornmeal in to thicken it all up to a mush so that it won't leak when I take it to work, and that will undoubtedly change the taste a bit, but I think I have a winner, here. 

Of course I make a really good and healthy chicken soup when I'm just about well.  I'm still coughing up some stuff, but I feel loads better today than even yesterday.  I went to work yesterday, and dragged myself through, and it may partly have been the distance provided by the cold med, but it may have been the factor of having had lots of rest for about four days, but my temper was SO much better than before I was sick. 

One of my co-workers has taken up selling second-hand books online as a hobby, so she's been asking people for recommendations on authors she should look for, and she says the ones I've suggested must sell well because the bookstores she's asked about them at say they can't keep them on the shelves - Terry Pratchett and Christopher Moore. :) 

Oh oh, time to take my shower and go.
