It's been a busy week.  I posted the story Monday, so at that point I recall what was going on.  I know some of my time was sucked up because I started reading the sequel to that Vorkosigan fanfic I was reading last week.  *checks 'history'*  Yeah, that was it - What Passing Bells is so far just as good as A Deeper Season. :)

But I could have sworn there was something else more necessary and productive that I was doing.  Hm.  I recall doing stretching.  Oh, and I started watching the movie which the Duckling loaned me ages ago, that's right!  I should finish watching that today - it's "What the #$*! Do We (K)now!?".  It's about... quantum.

We went to the gym Monday and Tuesday nights, but Wednesday we decided to not go because the stairmaster had killed us the night before, so I stayed late at work instead.  The snowstorm caused massive delays, we were there until nearly quarter past midnight.  I decided I couldn't drive in it, and didn't really want to walk home from the garage by myself at that time of night, so just left the car at work and a co-worker drove me home.  My street was a winter wonderland!  [livejournal.com profile] mollyrazor got some gorgeous pictures of the morning after, here, and you can see it did a lot of damage to the trees around her house - it's that heavy, wet, spring snow.  Amazingly enough, the tree just outside our bedroom window is still standing.  I keep thinking it's going to fall any day, now, and it keeps just not doing so.  I'm tempted to open a betting pool. :)

Thursday I got up and helped Eor dig out the van (although I think I was little enough help) and then went back to bed and overslept by an hour.  Literally just made it for the very last bus I could take and hope to make it to work on time, only saved by the fact there was someone else waiting so it had to stop, skinned in while the Leads were having their inbrief and was still putting the last do-jiggers on my uniform during the screener inbrief.  Forgot my nametag.  But they were forgiving because I'd been there so late the night before. :)

I was kind of a mess all day, quite tired and also with my period starting yet again (yes, I did only have it the week before last, I'm disgusted by this development - I forgot to pick up my patches from the pharmacy, apparently, because I can't find them anywhere, but I didn't expect this to happen) and I think I got on my trainee's nerves.  She also was in her eleventh consecutive workday, which couldn't have helped.  Two days apart will do our relationship good. ;)  She is, however, quite a good one, I lucked out yet again.  She finds the job interesting, which amazes me, and she's a natural to it - methodical, good spacial orientation, and very calm and pleasant with the passengers.  She also already has a degree in ... what?  Criminology?  Criminal Justice?  I can never remember which is which, because I seem to recall thinking that the one which sounded more prestigious was actually not.  She'll probably just use this as a stepping stone; I imagine she'll be in the Secret Service in a year or two.

So.  Now I think I've about caught up on reading all the LJ I had missed.  I have physical wants - water, a shower and some food - and then I can think about grocery shopping and fixing the errors in Chapter Two of Swept Away.  Tronny mentioned that I'd explained the outriders twice - argh, the detriments of rewriting multiple times! :P - but is there anything else annoying that anyone has noticed?  Or even just niggling.

Maaan, I can't believe I did it yet again.  I allowed myself to get drawn back into reading "What Passing Bells" over breakfast.  Finally I tore myself away, thinking it's about time I go do the grocery shopping in case Eor comes home early again like he did last week (very likely, as there's not much to do right now because their whole move process is almost done; or that's the impression I've been getting), and I went to take some Advil.  "No, not that many," I thought to myself as a about five rolled out of the bottle, "I have to drive.  Oh, wait."  In fact I left my car at work last night also and made Eor come out and pick me up, because there was a parking ban for road clearing and it seemed as though it had worked so well the night before.  So I need to take the bus out there and get it before I can do the shopping.  Not such a huge deal at all, but it's going to take a little longer and I really should have left... oh, any time this morning would have been good, but an hour or more ago would have been about ideal.  Whatever.  It's just annoying that something like that had completely slipped my mind, even though I remember now thinking about it some hours ago.

The ironic thing is that "What Passing Bells" concerns Miles having been poisoned by something that is mimicking a speeded up case of Alzheimer's.
