(no subject)

I'm having Russian caravan tea to get myself in a mood for writing more Ivan/Byerly - although I don't seem to need much to get me in the mood, these last few days.  Writing that's about all I'm doing.  My attempt to get action in there has so far resulted in Ivan getting beat up, though, which is not easy for me to write.  I feel very uncomfortable about it.  It's bothering me.  I think what bothers me is that I enjoy writing it and I feel guilty.  I've got to get over this, though, because people love reading about people getting beat up.

I just ran into our maintenance woman on the porch, and she looked pointedly over the porch rail at the bare patch of dirt in front of the building - I had happened to meet her on Saturday in the hardware store and asked if there would be any problem with me doing something with that patch of dirt.  I had to admit I haven't started yet.  Of course today is the first day of sun since I last saw her, but I guess I could have been at it this morning.  I've got to chip that dirt up, and then I bet the bag of gardening dirt I bought isn't going to go far, really.  I'll need three more bags to make much of a difference, and I still haven't got the seeds I want.  I'd like to just seed some sort of low-growing wildflower or herb, something I won't have to work on too much, at least for the first.  If I feel inspired I can keep on.
