During the course of the day, yesterday, I became convinced that the actor who plays Glitch in Tin Man is really pretty good. The script is no great material to work with, but he throws himself into it with gusto, delivers his lines with conviction, and has an expressive face. I finally began to wonder who he was and looked him up on IMDB. Ah, of course - the guy who played Nightcrawler in the X-Men movie (X-2), Alan Cumming. This whole series might be worth watching just for him.

Glitch/Caine slash, anyone? Please tell me there is some?

Okay, excellent ending to Tin Man. And Glitch, Caine and Raw end up looking even more like DG's three husbands than they did in the first ever movie, in the stylized blocking of that the bit where they come back together after they've all played out their various roles in the climax. And I thought that was a fine interpretation, because she loves them each for what they are, and their strengths compliment each other, they're not in competition. (In the book of course they didn't have that same dynamic because Dorothy was actually a little girl and the Lion was not anthropomorphized, so the romantic pair was the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman.) (What? 0.0 I interpret subtext from a bi/slash/poly sensibility because that's who I am.)

The good news is, because it's a miniseries it has an end, and you can watch each chapter in under ten minutes, and there's only seven chapters in the first part and eight in the last two parts, so that's only an investment of less than four hours of your life.

Shite - teh intrawebs, they is down. Well, must go take a bath anyhow, and then I can write notes to go in holiday present boxes and seal them up. And after that I can write out cards. I've set up a writing board on my Morris chair to do all this writing on. :) Eor teased me that he was taking the car so that I couldn't go out, and that way I'd have nothing else I could do besides write notes to people. I must view it as more good luck that the connection is down so I can't be distracted by the Internet anymore - and that it waited until I'd finished watching Tin Man. Possibly it's just a fetch-up in Explorer - I shall NOT investigate it at the moment, I will instead to the things I've got to do.

My box for Eightball looks sadly lacking next to the one for Hawk and his girlfriend - though I suppose it would be only right that it be half as big as one meant for two people. Still I just don't feel as though I've done so well for him yet this year. I may leave that box unsealed for the moment.

...

Uh oh. After my bath the Internets came back for me. Bad. Must be strong. Er. In a minute.

...

ETA: Soon as I went to try to look up one of the Glitch/Caine moments the connection went down again. I did manage to determine that I may have been overly kind with my time assessment on the Chapters - some of them are 18 minutes long, so the total is a bit longer than I guessed.
