I just picked up white eggs at the Rite-Aid down the street, came home, cooked up three in the way I have been doing it lately, over easy... and could not eat them. The runny stuff suddenly bothered me. I started worrying about salmonella. The "brown eggs are local eggs and local eggs are fresh" jingle started playing in my head.

My compromise was to pop them back in the pan for another few seconds, and change out my plate and fork. I still left them a little soft in the middle, but I seem able to at least eat them, now. This is silly. Why should I believe that free-range organic brown eggs (which I usually buy) are more likely to be free of salmonella? But I firmly do. So why do I believe that the eggs I get in diners are going to be okay? They'll almost certainly be the cheaper eggs, not the free range organic. I'm a wacko.

Okay, food is finally eaten. Per usual I pretty much ignored the things on my list for things that the time seemed right for - today that was writing a rather rambly email to [livejournal.com profile] soda_and_capes. I did, however, make dr's appointments that I was overdue for making - two followups and then a physical April 16 - and then as I was putting it on the calender I realized March probably would have been better because Eor's been looking at going to Florida in April and hasn't decided when, as yet. Shoot.

I did not, as you may expect, actually go to Century Tire to have them rotate my tires, as Eor so strongly suggested I do this morning. My car is handling terribly in the snow and he says I should have done this a year and a half ago, but I really had no idea it was important. I did call, and the guy there said that if I come in tomorrow after 7 but before 9am I might be able to get in and out fairly quickly, so I'll have to do that. Which kind of sucks because I wanted to sleep in, but I don't really have to be particularly awake while they're working on the car. I should be able to just roll out of bed and go.

This is absolutely necessary to do now because I'm giving the car to Eor for next week, and dangerous tires are okay for me, but I won't have him driving on them.
