Breasts, and book 7

I'm so envious of this woman! Divorcing my breasts - Liza Nelson (found via daegaer, thank you! :)) Nutshell: Some precancerous lumps were found in her breasts and she got to have a double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery using the fat from her stomach! So, small breasts and flat tummy all at once - WANT! Gosh I hope those mammograms they keep sending me back to will find something. Is that horrible, to wish that?

Book #7) "Podkayne of Mars" - Robert Heinlein. Podkayne is a teenage girl who wants to be a space captain.

I should say that I think Heinlein was doing his best to be forward thinking about race...( First paragraph is the good things. Then I start rambling about what annoyed me. Some Spoilers below this cut, but I tried to make it not really ruin the story in case you might want to read it. You might like it. )

Yeah, anyhow. Must get a move on before I forget to eat breakfast like I did yesterday. And then I drove to work and there were all food songs on the radio station I switched on, because it was Fat Tuesday and there was a big cooking contest down at USM.

My co-worker, Moose, helped me polish my boots at the end of the workday, this evening. :) I think this means he likes me...? He also grabbed my breast at the Christmas party, but I didn't read anything in to that, seeing as he'd done much more with other people that evening... er. ;> Anyhow, he wants everyone on the special detail on Saturday to look good - me, him, and about a dozen other people are being bussed to Bangor. Although I don't suppose he'll help them all polish their boots.

Got Vic signed off on her training. In the comments space I wanted to write "She is perfect," but I had wanted to write that for the previous student as well and had not (I felt a little odd about it), and he was sitting right there as I was signing off hers, so I didn't. Tomorrow I'll probably get the last one signed off and want to write the same thing. ;)

Um. What else was I going to write? Damn it, I can't remember. That's the biggest reason I don't write much, lately - I just can't freakin remember anything.

I did get that SF-50 faxed in, so with any luck they'll actually consider my application.

Aaand, unfortunately someone saw me flinch in pain when I went to move a bag, today, and I ended up filling out paperwork and am going to be on light duty. :( /me is really very annoyed. I'll call my Dr. tomorrow and go through all the blah blah and get more friggin physical therapy lined up. Icka.
