Three days of incredibly beautiful weather. This is insane, this never happens to us when we're camping. I was debating doing a 'Day One,' 'Day Two,' 'Day Three' post, but it can basically be summed up pretty much like this:

1) Get up, acquire some breakfast (Saturday I cooked, and it was miserable, but Friday and today we went out to a pancake place that did absolutely perfect eggs-over-easy, homefries and hash.)

2) Go for a walk along The Wilderness Trail (Friday we did a little over four miles, Saturday we did a little over six, and today we did a little over nine miles, and were rather pleased with ourselves given how out of shape we've been getting.)

3) Make some dinner in the late afternoon/evening. (Friday and Saturday this happened quite a bit earlier than today, because we had to drive home and try to get some laundry done today.)

The only real variation was that we tried to have a fire on Friday night. The Host didn't have properly dry wood, so he encouraged us to forage and it was all just as wet, but we toasted some marshmallows and stuffed them with bits of chocolate. Saturday we skipped the fire and the marshmallow toasting and just ate our pseudo smores uncooked before dropping into bed.

We didn't get much reading done. That's the big disadvantage of perfect weather - we didn't really rest and relax all that much. :)

Speaking of which, I finished [book #18] "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" (Susanna Clark) last week, which was fantastic, although I wish we could have seen more of Arabella Strange )

and also read [book #19] "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime," (Mark Haddon) which was really pretty damned cool in an entirely different way, and Eor already wrote a really good review of it.

I'm currently reading "The Stainless Steel Rat Sings The Blues" (Harry Harrison). and I'm going to write something about it because it's in my head and wants to pour out... )

Next week:
Tomorrow - X-ray on my neck, then talk to the specialist.
Tuesday - PT
Wednesday - Breakfast with th ladies from work to see Alice off on her next assignment.
Thursday - PT nope, my work schedule has been rearranged because I'm going to be in Conflict Management class.
Friday - no plans in the morning!

Sorry this post is such a spam on your flist.
