I've been trying to help Eor with work on the van. That sports med specialist I went to did say there was a weak muscle in the front of my shoulder socket. This activity seems to have got right at that particular muscle.

I'm not even sure I can explain exactly what we were trying to do, because I don't know all the technical words, but even though I know some of them there's probably no point, because the point is we did a lot of work - before AND after breakfast - and got very tired and couldn't get the damned thing together right. So it's together wrong. It just had to be back together somehow so we could drive it up to the VW place in Falmouth, Morong. And what we're going to ask them to do is like four other things, things Eor really can't do at home. There's some rusted bolts in the driver's side wheel/axle set-up which have broken off and need to be replaced, among other things.

It was kind of an exciting ride to Falmouth, what with cyclists all over the place and one nearly dodging in front of the van - Eor drove the van and I followed in the car, just waiting for that whole wheel/axle thingy to let go. But he looked at it when we got there and the rusted in bolts were still holding just fine, even though they're broken off.

Eor's written out a neat list of the things that need to be done, and I've gone around the van and pointed to each thing to test my understanding of what we're going to ask Morong to do, and tomorrow I'll take the keys to them (they're not open today; we just left the van in their parking lot) and explain what needs to be done, and ask them if they can do it in the next week. If they say 'no' I actually have another five days to offer them, but at the end of that time it really needs to be ready to go because we'll be going to Salisbury Beach. Eor suggests I use all my feminine charms and possibly a low-cut shirt to convince them to get the work done right, this time. :) If you recall, when we drove to Baxter State Park, a good four hour drive, we had to do that drive with things improperly put together by Morong and not welded where they were supposed to be welded, because they just didn't do work they had said they could do. It really kills me that they have no competition in this area. There's a reason people refer to them as "Moron."

And I get all this responsibility of explaining things and then paying for things (yay) because Eor's going out of town for this week and possibly next week as well. But hey, I won't have to park on the street because I can put the car in the space the van is usually in, in the back lot. :)

Possibly it's now time for some vanilla ice-cream with blueberries. And blueberry sauce.
Made a lovely meal (well, an easy meal, but it tasted pretty good) of steak, mashed potatoes, cheese sauce and (canned) green beans and corn, and watched the first two episodes of the third (and final) season of "Chef!" Dude. O. M. G. So BAD. How the mighty are fallen. Very depressing. If you ever get a chance to see the first two season, they're great, but now I know why they didn't make more than three seasons. :(

Now I have dishes to do. In fact I suspect I won't be finishing them until Wednesday.
