Wednesday I was dragging my butt through the day, constantly saying "I can last a few more hours," and just before the end of the day the Coordinator (or whatever his title is now) came in and said, "You're going on a road trip, tomorrow!"

"Uh. I was thinking I was going to call in sick, tomorrow."

"But you're going to need to do same gender demonstrations."

"Oh, right. Okay, I'll try to make it."

Thursday, I staggered out to the kitchen, said good morning to Hawk, and he said, "Are you taking that voice to work?"

I went back to bed and slept another two hours. And basically sleep, read, and take a bath is all I've done for the past two days. I was going to go visit my Dad today, but he just started chemo, so it's probably not a good idea.

I would post links to what I've read in the past two days, but mostly they've been WIPs, and I enjoyed them, but it's always harsh hitting the last line on a WIP; seems a little cruel to pass that on.
The will of Captain Obed Gardner, 1841. (Yes, it's an actual will, though he wrote it long enough before he died that almost all of it was negated. Belindy's husband died by overturning his dory - the Captain was right, he really was a lubber, who overturns a dory?? And Ezra returned, having made his fortune, and patched things up with his father.)

(ETA: I meant to post this to [livejournal.com profile] perfect_duet, see what happens when you try to listen to "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" at the same time as posting?)
