I just finally planted those flowers that have been sitting around since the service for my Dad - a bachelor's button (which is much taller than I imagined such a plant should be, with much bigger flower), some things which I think are daffodils but which had a tiny sign on them which I found today that said 'bell song,' and the things which were labeled 'violas' and appear to be a type of pansy. And now my legs feel all weak and shaky! Try kneeling and levering yourself up and down without your hands (because they're busy doing something else) for most of an hour.
Great carnage has been wreaked among the japanese knotweed this day, many burdocks have fallen, and the roses have been taught once more their proper place, while delicate young lilacs* have been freed from the shadows.
Also, I've been reading an Edgar Rice Burroughs, "The Outlaw of Torn." One of the first three knights he killed was Greystoke. :)
...
I read, and listened to Eor hammer on his keyboard, writing to his Mum, for some time, before thinking I should probably hammer some keys myself, and began typing Chapter 13, while listening to the Rapture mixes which Daegaer linked me to yesterday. Good thing the world didn't end so I got to listen to them, because these are great song choices! Many of them are favorites of mine (a few are on our Halloween mix) and a lot more are new to me and I'm loving them. And then there's some that are cool for historic reasons...
15) Zombie Jamboree (Back To Back, Belly To Belly) Charmer (1953) 2:47
Because what would a rapture party be without Louis Farrakhan? Yes, you read that correctly. Before becoming a minister in the Nation of Islam, he was a calypso singer who performed under the name “Charmer.” Appears on The Best of Bob Dylan’s Theme Time Radio Hour vol. 2.
(BTW, if you've never seen it, The Wrath of Farrakahn...)

* Well, we hope they're lilacs. Don't know where they came from, unless some roots left over from years ago.
