I might have mentioned way back in October, when we went to Indiana, that we stopped at a comic shop, because we were so excited to see that this horrible-looking neighborhood of Indianapolis had one that appeared to be thriving, along with a meadery, a music venue, an old records store and an actual music (as in musical instruments) store, and a few pretty good places to eat and drink.
But the comics I tucked between the records we bought and didn't really look at them until last night, when Eor started cleaning records and shoved them over to me. I don't have bags for them, and probably should get them, because I realized just now that I've got two copies of the exact same one. It's been so many years since I've touched comics at all that I had no idea about these alternate covers, and I bought two copies of the first "The Mis-adventures of Adam West." Anyone know of comic trading communities where I could offer this one up to see if anyone else has accidentally got to copies of #2?
I also got "Warlord of Mars Dejah Thoris," which was pretty much as I expected, an excuse for someone to draw lots of good-looking half-naked people, and Deja Thoris doesn't get to do an actual lot of sword-work. It was fun, and had a sweet theme about her trying to end the war ( cut for spoilers and me getting into a ramble about race and how it was used in the Barsoom books )
Oh, as to why I'm home - woke up at 3AM with a really sore throat. Staggered out and made a stiff hot water/honey/lemon and had three ibuprofen, and that got me back to sleep. I'm hoping that sleeping in until 8am has mostly taken care of it. It's still lurking in that 'threatening to close your throat up' way. I'm going to go take a hot shower (someone was in there when I tried at 8) and then start the gallons of hot tea. Probably non-caffeinated, with whatever lemon I have left and plenty of honey. And some salty bouillon.
Hm, something going on in the yard. The guy upstairs is having his truck towed, which has been sitting, where it apparently died, in a very inconvenient spot for a while. I guess he's doing the right thing. I mean, it should be towed, and it's not in character for anyone else in the building to have done so, so I assume it is he* who has taken this action.
