Because I heard the completely ridiculous comparison that more Americans are killed by police violence than by terrorism, I started looking up homicide data.

Also, I have bought myself sandals! My ancient Birkenstocks and Tevas are dying - the rubber soles are worn through - so I have been trying to keep my eyes open, and since tomorrow is my birthday I finally decided to get myself these: Taos Prize Slides. (I wanted the 'tan multi' [I think it was], but they only had the brown in my size.) Not quite sure if I made the best choice, not sure if they're really me, but I was also thinking in terms of my costume for Faire, and I think they look sort of both middle class and vaguely barbaric. So... we'll see.

AND, I recovered my notebook! They did have it at the Post Office! :D

I have a whole boxfull of AWESOME!! :D
