The days have been packed. Thursday I had dinner with Hawk, just me and him, for a little sibling time before he left. Ate at Norm's on Congress Street, and they had tables out on the sidewalk, which was fun. Perfect weather, though a bit breezy (had to keep holding the menu down in creative ways.)

Friday was Hawk's graduation ceremony and then dinner with his lovely wife and her parents, and also a friend of Hawk's who he's been staying with in Portland. Great people, all, but it left me exhausted because SOCIALIZING. (*shudders in her introvert shell*) Her Mum, who is also at least as shy as me, and possibly doesn't hear all that well, got stuck at the end of the table next to me, but I think we had a pretty good interaction. As we were all leaving her parents invited us to visit them in East Sandwich, MA, at their incredibly gorgeous home, next time we go to King Richard's Faire, which might well have been the drink talking, as we'd all had a couple. :) It doesn't seem practical since we usually camp with Cyberquail, Littleredhead and Groundcntrl, and also East Sandwich is not very near Carver.

Didn't sleep too well after ALL that alcohol (a whole two drinks, I'm such a lightweight these days) and then we went to see the house which we might buy yet again, on Saturday morning. We were there for a long time, measuring everything, around two hours or more - our real estate agent is incredibly patient. Also, kind of a dork. :) He opened the door, a hornet came in, and he borrowed my legal pad to swat it with...*crash-tinkle-tinkle!* A window pane was broken and the hornet was laughing. :) He says in fifteen years showing houses he's never broken anything - "I'll buy you a new window. I'll tell the seller it was my fault." I said he shouldn't worry about it, in fact he shouldn't say anything; there's a storm window on there, too, it's not like the rain is going to come in. I wanted to laugh my ass off, but he seemed so embarrassed. :)

And then in the afternoon we did some outdoor work and then went to Lowe's to price stuff we would need if we did get this house. Stuff for electrical, heating duct work, etc. Paint. A riding lawnmower, because I'm not even going to think about suggesting we try to mow this place with a reel mower, or even a power push mower. There's some serious years of unmown grass outside of a tiny circle around the house. Another consideration was a gas barbeque grill, which sounds totally frivolous, but when you think about the kitchen being ripped apart, and cooking on a camp stove or in the van all the time, well... maybe we can use something that feels a little festive. And then we might be able to have more fish in our diets, because Eor won't cook that inside a house. :)

And then, boom, my weekend was over, and I went back to work and did three rotations on the millimeter wave machine, the last for 45 minutes. That position is hella tiring. I can't believe some places have a team work that for four hours straight. I'd be ready to keel.
