(no subject)

Today has been much pulling of vines and roses down from trees, hauling up yard trash to the pool area for later burning, and etc. In the afternoon we went to the hardware store and got a turning fork for me to turn over the compost heap. I have designated a bowl as the thing in which I will collect things for the compost heap for the present. It's a smallish bowl for that purpose, though, so I hope for something better, soon. My grandmothers always kept buckets under the sink for compost. If I'd thought about it when we were at the hardware store, they've probably got something suitable.

Next week we're gathering at my cousin's for a memorial party for my Mom. Hawk and Eightball have already bought their tickets and are going to stay here with me for a couple of nights. I'm getting excited. ;) I've taken half the day off next Thursday and also Sunday and Monday, and we should be able to also go up and visit my Dad's sister some time during that stretch. Maybe we'll try to drop in on The Humble Farmer as well. He was a friend of my Dad's, and I'm a little worried because he's actually not going to Common Ground Fair this year - he says it wears him out too much.
