26) Sharing Knife, Volume Four: Horizon - Bujold, yet again.

I liked how this series ended up. Some growing up for youngsters. Different races learning respect for each other after generations of poor interactions. Our Plucky Heroine helping defeat the Big Bad Boss (no, there's no particular ongoing Evil One in this series, but it's like playing Diablo where you meet different levels of monsters... er. yeah.)

Yeah, I don't really ask much more out of a book than that it have some decent female characters, a few things to say about societies and human interactions, and be fun. ( some potential slightly spoilery stuff be here )

I have been weird today. Must be summer weather getting to me. Or eating too little and having coffee late in the day. I went and bought two wrap-around skirts, because they were only $20, and that seemed good to me. (yeah yeah, I know I can buy 5 as a package deal online for $35 or possibly less, but I got to look at the colors in person and have them in my hand and not pay for delivery, so I like that.) And then when Eor got home I suddenly wanted to try every different way I could wrap it for skirt or dress. Fun, but... I was starving! I'd had like a cheese stick since breakfast. But I couldn't put the damned skirts down, and kept watching more YouTube vids about wrapping skirts different ways. My conclusion? These women who promise to show you 15 ways to use a wraparound skirt are ridic. There's like 5, tops - unless you want to use it for a posture improvement torture device - and most of the 'dress' styles I would not want to be caught dead in. But then again, convincing myself to actually wear a skirt where anyone else besides Eor can see me is a huge challenge in the first place, so who knows, maybe after I push myself past my comfort zone I'll go for it.
